I am absolutely loving this course and all the brilliant content. It has honestly been mind blowing, learning about all the techniques involved in sourcing and recruitment. It’s definitely a field I can see myself not only working in but throughly enjoying too.

The support from my mentor has been brilliant and she has been so kind in offering some great advice within the field and encouragement along the way.

After dedicating many years to raising my family and frequently relocating due to military life, finding the right work/home life balance has been tricky. However, this course has given me a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Helen’s husband used to serve in the Royal Marines but in 2014 he was medically discharged.

Keen to still work from home, Helen has landed her dream job with Virgin Red: “I never dreamed I’d be doing this. I owe so much to Recruit for Spouses and Virgin Red for helping me to get my foot in the door and opening up a whole new career for me. What they are doing for military spouses is just brilliant. My role is fully remote and while I love going into the office to see people when I can, the reality is I wouldn’t be doing this job if I had to commute into London everyday.

Kate reached out to RFS after listening to our podcast with Virgin…."I’m a PR and Communications Manager at Virgin Red. Quite simply, the opportunity to work at Virgin through Recruit for Spouses has opened doors for me that I thought had closed. As a military spouse with two young children, living away from my extended family in various military communities in the UK and overseas - always a long way from a city centre - my PR career has taken lots of twists and turns as I tried to keep it on track while juggling family life. This role at Virgin is a dream come true and means my career goals are back within reach.

When we engaged with RFS, not having worked with such a small agency before, it was a risk but we saw a 80% increase in productivity within three months of engaging with them.

Virgin Red began working with RFS in July 2020, many of our RFS colleagues have been part of the team since the very start and make up our Member Support Genies.  The team deliver an outstanding level of support to the Virgin Red members, responding to up to 4,000 requests each month and our customer satisfaction score is consistently over 80%.  We currently have 19 RFS Genies working with us, and we’re delighted to have brought a further 5 RFS colleagues into our business as permanent employees.  We look forward to continuing to grow our partnership with RFS in the future.
